It’s Something Of A Celebration Here On I Am Bossy
That’s right, Bossy is celebrating the fact she has written her three-thousand-and-fourth post here on her blog!
Of course what Bossy actually wanted to celebrate was the writing of her three-thousandth post, but she lost the screen shot she took of that moment because that’s just how sentimental Bossy is, emphasis on mental.
Three thousand and four posts. And it only took four years and eight months and eleven days spent not curing cancer or inventing a tool that would make spackling around a skylight simple, or coming up with a solution for the fact that Target has already sold out of Bossy’s purple Christmas tree lights.
But where were we? Ah yes, we were not curing cancer or inventing anything worthwhile, we were in the middle of this three-thousand-and-fifth post. Because that’s Bossy. Giving until it hurts (you.)
And the Hlloween stuff is out in July. AND OMFG PLEASE STOP! The bathing suits for spring break have been out since LAST WEEK. AAAACK!!!!!111!!!! ELEVENTY!
We bought a prelit artificial tree and have used those purple target lights in the past. Do you want me to see if I still have them? I will send them to you. Just email me.
You keep on hurting us thusly. It’s a good kind of hurt.
I know right? You’d think the marketers could take a couple of months off and get back into sync with everyone else!

I saw purple lights at Target on Friday. Want me to go get You some? I wonder why purple lights would be sold out? Not judging, just not a commonly used color on Christmas. I’d be glad to send you some. Us holiday makers have to stick together. Let me know- I mean it. Email me.
Christmas creep is ridiculous, on July 3rd I went shopping for some last minute grilling/party supplies, and most of the stuff was gone, and they were already putting up inflatable Christmas lawn ornaments, it’s horrible.
On a more serious note, c’mon bossy, using the word “rape” so casually is tactless and maybe something to consider stopping. Just think about it.

3005 posts = how many glasses of wine?
Major miilestone, thanks, Bossy, for putting these posts out here. Purple lights. My friend in Pittsburgh wears only purple and black, except for some white accents here and there. And maybe some summer dresses for around the house. Every once in a while she goes on a color shopping spree but others benefit from the purchases in short order.
When my brother lived in Texas he had a white Christmas tree with Kentucky blue ornaments. Sick puppy.
Same thing at my Tar-jay with my blue lights! But the stock guy told me they re-stock every morning!! Happy Purple Holidays!

I was just at my Target, and my choice in lights was limited to white, white, and white. I was half-surprised that they didn’t already have Valentine’s decorations out.
Oh my gosh, I’m only up to 30 posts, frankly I can only commit to one blog a week. That means I have 57.19 years to reach this milestone. Maybe if I get a few more pathetic followers it might bump me up to two a week. I’m just saying.
Although you spent almost 4 years NOT curing cancer, you also spent it NOT engaging in petty theft, NOT coveting your neighbor’s whatever, and NOT kicking puppies (I hope). So consider it 4 years, 8 months and 11 days well spent.
I forgot to congratulate you on your stupendous blogging achievment! I’m impressed! I really enjoy your writing and we have similar senses of humor. So maybe your not curing cancer; but you make people happy and make them think. I look forward to your posts everyday.Nobody has a perfect life. You just happen to write about yours. Congratulations, young lady. Also, just think: It could have been worse. It could have been Post #3,011 and Target could have been out of all the crap in the bargain bins. And as everyone knows, 11 is one hell of a skeevy number and bargain-bin stuff is really our sole reason for living the end.
Ye GODS woman… I am up to 724 posts. Which made me wonder exactly HOW much time I have spent blogging… which is NEVER a good thing to dwell on. Lucky we meet such amazing people doing it, eh?

Retailers are taking all the fun out of day after Christmas shopping because they start the clearance sales on December 18th and the Valentine’s Day stuff is already up.

Yeah, the Christmas lights were fully stocked when I went to Target in mid-September to buy some replacement bulbs and fuses for our “Sukkah lights.” I think they had Chanukah plates and other such so-not-necessaries on the shelves then as well.
Congrats, and as your Mom said, “keep on keeping on.”

yup, Target Man lied. We needed a Halloween update this year and right there with the tombstones were reindeer lanterns and strings of plain lights. Which was good, so I could put battery LEDs in our pumpkins. And hey, I’ll bet that’s why they are out of purple: they started selling them before Halloween. And purple is now the official accent color of that holiday. Phooey.
I found an extensive aisle-worth of cheesy dog costumes — my poor dogs — at Target for about $1 each a few days after Halloween, and sent a friend there the next day so she too could torture her dog. She fumbled around a while, called me, I described exactly where the costumes were, but no: everything had sprouted christmas stuff overnight.
And it didn’t seem to me that Target was all that well stocked in light options even two days after Halloween.
Wait — when did you stop kicking puppies?
