Today Bossy is driving from Eugene to Portland, and all the way across the Oregon farmland Bossy shouts in the general direction of her open window, “Where are you Roloff’s?”

I made that trip myself this last summer. San Diego to Portland in 19 hours–straight through. No matter how hungry you get for Mexican food, do not stop for it before you get to Portland–it’s pretty country, but they don’t do authentic Mexican food.

The Roloffs live in Helvetia which is near Hillsboro – more on the Portland side of things than Eugene. I hope you enjoy my home state! The farm country is one of its best features in my opinion.
I 2nd the no Mexican food – but I would personally avoid it in Portland, too. Have some Asian food here – that’s very well done! I hope you have a good time in my city!
Amy, don’t forget to specify what Asian food. The Chinese food is horrendous in Portland, the Thai food kicks ass.
And, there are some good little Mexican places. Like Porque No on Mississippi is delicious!

Bossy will love Portland, but all I remember about the food there is the coffee shop/bakeries…mmmmmm

Some of my best roadtrip shots were actually taken through my windshield, while barreling down a highway.

Ooh, I love tunnels like that. We have several here in NC and I love to drive through them, honking my horn to hear the echo. The other drivers love it, too – at least, I guess that’s what that hand gesture means.
Oh, that would have really been something if the Roloffs were your hosts for a day or two, now wouldnt it?
Maybe next year, TLC can do a little show on you…like, a Bossy reality show, like Paris and Nicole, kind of, but not really.
