Hi. I’m Paige Davis and welcome to Trading Space Stations where the players are given a $1,000 budget, two days, and 24 pounds of oxygen to completely redesign their module.
Let’s have a look around.
15,000 cubic feet of aluminum! The Space Station is made up of three cylindrical section thingies and two endcone thingies that can attach to other cool station thingies through its hatch thingie. Still, the shield blanket walls are so dreary and everything feels so, um, cluttered. But the view from the one window? Not too shabby!
Hey, look – it’s Hildi. What you got planned, Hildi?
Well Paige, astronauts Joe Tanner and Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper just crawled outside to install a new 45-foot structural truss to the complex’s port side. But those crazy helmet things make them look like giant bugs! And their suits are so 1986. Don’t they know space-boot-leg pants are out and straight leg pants are in?
Anyway the new truss contains power producing solar panels, but also? Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper is a girl, which is, like, so awesome.
Hi Paige and Hildi, my name is Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper, but you can totally call me Heidi. So yesterday, right? Outside installing the truss? Astronaut Joe Tanner? He like totally dropped a spring-loaded bolt! So funny! I just hope it doesn’t, like, fly down to earth and hit someone upside the head!
So what’s our next task Hildi? A new fabric-wrapped banquette? Faux finish the instrument panels?
Don’t let Hildi decorate. She’ll get all complicated and wearing those two inch heels.
And Frank, just keep him away! I loved when a Key West husband once said to him on the show, “Frank, I’ve seen the show. I’ll take it from here.”
