PERIL: When that very same best guy friend acts the dope and slices his thumb open while trying to open a champagne bottle, it means a 1:00am trip to St. Luke’s Emergency Center.

College looks like it’s turning out to be fun. Enjoy every minute. When it’s over? BAM. Life!

Wow. 25 years after I went to college, and your experience is freakily similar to mine, including the 1 a.m. trip to the ER for a sliced thumb but excluding the snow.

It’s the only time all of your friends live within a 2 mile radius, have no job, no money and are ready to do something every day.

bossy’s son writes some darn nice posts. has he considered a blog of his own? not til his homework is done though.
The ER trip is good practice for being a parent. Hopefully you didn’t have to pin anyone down while they stitched him up.
bossy’s son, I love that campus, hanging on the steps in the sunshine people watching…bit chilly for it now huh?
Add in dark pictures of bands in small nightclubs or bands in drafty hangar-warehouses, and exclude that good-looking food and you have the guts of my experience too.
Add in wine and cheese art exhibitions (Euro college) and Soc. kegs and we’re there!
i didn’t think ANYTHING would make me miss syracuse and the snow, especially after all the snow we’ve gotten in my neck of the woods, but boy howdy, that first picture makes me miss college, just a little bit. which i NEVER though would happen again.
I never understood why the desk chair was always turned over in my guy friends’ dorm rooms. Why? It works much better as a chair than whatever it could be upside down and in the middle of the room.
I miss college. *Sniff*
I love how Stella is all squooshed up in the corner of the couch!
What on earth is picadillo? I know what a pecadillo is, but I wouldn’t want to eat one.
OK, last picture did make me get all squishy.
Champagne? I call a college do over…one with CHAMPAGNE.
(rather than all that tequila and keg beer)
Ohhhh, how this post makes Bossy miss her college days of hanging in the dorm and cooking with friends and going out every night and meeting in the quad and… oh wait, Bossy didn’t go to college… until later… and it sure is different at 35… although she can tell you that Champagne did happen!
Is it just me, or has everyone fallen in love with Bossy’s son?
I mean, it’s kind of wrong, isn’t it? He’s like twelve or something, and I’m about 90?? Feels like it…
Lord, I remember champagne in college. Of course, in the olden days at San Jose State, we could get some “great” stuff for about a buck and a half

You rock, Bossy’s son, love the cutting back and forth between plusses and peril! I don’t miss college, but then, we didn’t drink champagne and – believe me! – the potlucks did not include things like caprese (official name for tomato & mozzarella) salad!

2. BossysSon has very sophisticated cook-friends, to come up with that buffet. You did all that in your rooms??
3. In group photo of friends, the woman’s head at very bottom next to pink-shirt-girl looks totally photoshopped in. Was she really there? I’m sorry but her head and arm are going diff directions. (brings to mind a genuinely photoshopped group shot of some friends where one person was added in later, and was that ever creeeeepeee.)
4. B.S, thank you for no photo of paint on bare chest. but then again, where’s your school spirit? and hard s?

um, so in number 4 I was inquiring bout why we didn’t see BossySon’s school spirit as exemplified by blue paint on hard nipples. now I’ll shut up.
How adorable is he? Those pictures bring back memories… went to FIT and on weekends we hung out at Columbia many, many times (to see cuties like Bossy’s son
) They didn’t win any football games back then either…haha!
You simply are the coolest college kid out there I have to say. Very impressed. I will get your mom to bring you Peet’s coffee from California and then you’ll be set!

Jeez, most “buffets” when I went to college, would have consisted of the pigs in a blanket only. And I went to a Culinary School!!

So, I’ve been away from my home computer for almost a month now. First thing I did after firing it up just now? Checked Bossy’s blog and skipped STRAIGHT to the Far-Flung Correspondent section.
I’m already marking my calendar for when you do a book-signing someday, Kid Bossy. Your writing? It rocks!
