Bossy’s Ear Worm.

the-magnetic-fields

Welcome to Bossy’s Ear Worm, which will feature songs currently in Bossy’s headphones. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

The Magnetic Fields, The Things We Did And Didn’t Do.

This song is part of a three volume set, 69 Love Songs, which was released in 1999. But according to Bossy it was released yesterday, because that’s when her friend turned her on to this amazing collection of tunes. It was like Christmas in March for Bossy, except a little more sober and no Yorkshire Pudding.

This song is slightly more moody than some of the others, which are always smart and reference-filled and right on the money, recorded with an eclectic mix of sounds produced by extras such as ukulele, banjo, accordion, cello, mandolin, flute, xylophone, and marxophone.

It was love at first listen for Bossy.
