A Very Bossy Guest Post, Summer Edition. By Bossy’s Daughter.

Sometimes when I’m bored I create cutout families and the wardrobes they would wear using catalogue photos. But this time I thought I’d create my dream room out of a Crate & Barrel catalogue.

I cut out all of the things I liked and then I used one regular piece of paper for each wall, layering the photos and gluing them into place with a glue stick.

The lamp comes in 2 forms — desk and floor. Its base is clever: it resembles a telescope. The bed is called an “Arlon Bed”. It comes with an assortment of blue and green sheets, quilts, and pillows. The storage bench matches the bed and opens up with enough space to hold toys, games, seasonal clothing, and much more. Shell pictures hang on the wall and the rug is an “eclipse rug”. On the rug, I placed a pretty blue tote bag with a blue and white scarf with thin, white fringe on the ends. The antique alarm clock on the bed post is just an accessory that I thought fitted.

This simple white desk set is perfect if you have either a cluttered room, to make it feel cleaner, or a simple room, to finish the look. I cut out a scarf to hang on the chair to make this room more colorful. These beige curtains can cover the window/doors or be pulled back. They also come in light green. The candle light is good for any place and comes in all sizes from as big as a desk lamp, to as small as an orange. It’s great to hang outside for parties, or inside just to be festive. The picture frame is made completely out of seashells. It looked too empty without a picture inside, so I cut out a flower from the rug and pasted it inside the frame. The flowery rug is colorful but that is balanced by the neutral background.

This dresser is simple yet elegant and I thought it added to the chicness of the room. I thought these flowers would give that corner of the room a little touch of color, and the laptop is just a finishing touch. The chandelier has an intricate beading detail on the outside and not-too-bright light inside, and I think the mirror goes perfectly with it and the dresser. Its sort of stained frame is just the right mix of black and white to be really pretty. The red, white, black, and green clock comes in all different sizes from really big to small, and the picture really captures the essence of the boats in a canal during the day. The comfy chair is very suitable for reading especially with the added pillow which was not originally on this chair, but I thought I should add it to make it look ever more comfy. This reading lamp is perfect if you just want to curl up and read for a couple hours. The plant is just an accessory to make the room more natural.

The TV console holds all the stuff and the T.V. is very big, and I decided that it will have Fios on Demand. And a Wii and an X-box. The wine shelf above the TV is for when Bossy and Bossy’s Mom come for a visit. Don’t worry, the cheese and crackers are in the fridge, Bossy! I thought the candle wall fixture was the perfect accessory. It just brings me back to the nature concept. The simple black table will act as a place to put a snack or drink while you watch television, and the lamp is very elegant yet simple. These cushions can be moved anywhere, at any point of the day. They can provide extra comfort on any chair, the bed, or they can be used on their own. Hanging above are an assorted bunch of paintings chosen because they all had something in common: nature. The empty frames will eventually be filled with family memories.

This wall was supposed to have a door but there are a bunch NO DOORS IN CATALOGUES! Ever! You should try to find one sometime. The sign above the door just makes sense, and the dog: awwwwwwwwwwww!
