See anything unusual about the above photo of Bossy’s enormous tree? No? How about here:

Still no? Maybe we should take a closer look:

That’s right. The (Not) stray cat known as Baby David was chased high up in a tree on Saturday afternoon — and Bossy isn’t going to point fingers, except maybe her middle finger, in his direction:

He belongs to Bossy’s mom and he’s usually a heck of a chap, except when it comes to cats, and mailmen, and sounds in the dark of night, and neighbors on the porch, and let’s all just agree he’s currently in the dog house. Heh.

So there was Bossy and Bossy’s mom and Bossy’s daughter and Bossy’s mom’s dog and Bossy’s (Not) stray cat Baby David — and suddenly there was Bossy’s mom’s dog chasing the (Not) stray cat up a tree while Bossy and Bossy’s mom and Bossy’s daughter stood around and, being highly effectual women, cried.

And when finally Bossy and Bossy’s mom and Bossy’s daughter calmed down and gathered their wits, they began to logically address the emergency, where logically address equals shouting random things high up into the tree, such as, “Don’t jump, Baby David, don’t jump!

It may warm your heart to know the (Not) Stray Baby David was finally coaxed down, where coaxed down equals Bossy’s husband showed up in the middle of the emergency and lunged at the tree and scared the cat who jumped from a high limb and nearly killed himself before racing across the car-ridden street and then propelling his white body down the murky sewer.

And, phew, how was your weekend?
