Bossy’s On The Injured Reserve List
This is a photo of Bossy taken yesterday. Except it’s not really Bossy, and she isn’t in a full body cast. But she did injure her left index finger when grating ginger on Saturday night. Bossy understands this doesn’t sound like much of an injury, but believe Bossy, it isn’t:
Still, it makes typing a challenge, especially since Bossy learned when her gays were visiting last summer that Bossy is in fact a pecker.
Oh not that kind of pecker, silly Bossy — but rather the kind of pecker who types utilizing the two index fingers only. To make the situation easier to understand, Bossy will now write the previous sentence skipping those letters she would otherwise type with her injured finger:
But fear not, because when it comes to recovering from a grated finger, Bossy has been told it heals quickly. Of course Bossy was talking to herself at the time.
And while we all wait for the healing with bated breath because we thankfully don’t know what bated even means, Bossy would like to draw your attention to the new Far-Flung Correspondent in the bottom of the left column. Bossy, I knew that wasn’t you, you faker! Last time I looked you had a neck! Those finger injuries really hurt. WHERE in the heck is that chandelier? I could see me surprising the husband with that hanging in the dining room. Somewhere, there’s a chandelier maker with a warped sense of humor!I want one.
An appeal to the Bandaid (brand) Adhesive Bandage Company: Send Bossy finger-size supply pronto, preferably from the Comfort-Flex line.
That chandelier is HILARIOUS.
I love bandaids, and I love the drama of the full body cast in honor of the hurt finger. (A friend just put super glue on some sliver-cuts from her cooking mandolin, and I wonder if super glue would help protect your cut as it heals. After it hurts like hell putting applying it.)

I, too, grated ginger this weekend! I’m just like Bossy!
Only it was Sunday. And I didn’t sustain any injuries (in and of itself a miracle – call the Pope!) And I am not a blogger, but other than that JUST THE SAME!!
Soak it in alcohol – it will feel better. Or drink alcohol and you won’t care how it feels.
I feel for Bossy. I am no stranger to kitchen injuries.
Seeing Bossy’s wound- I don’t feel so bad about accidentally cutting off two of my fingers today.
I’ve had paper cuts that sabotage an entire quarter of my life’s productivity so I hear ya sister.

I had that same problem when I cut the tip off my finger with a pair of scissors. Heal soon.
Also, that chandelier pic might be the best thing I’ve seen this year.
I was surprised spell check didn’t correct that for you, but then agin I’m surprised by a lot of ordinary stuff.
At least it wasn’t a knuckle. Also, try Liquid Bandage (or similar name). Hurts like a muther but boy-oh-joy it works — you can even type again! But don’t let that info get out or The Fam will stop bringing you sympathy morphine.
