The Family Album Straight Up With A Twist.

popo-agie

That’s Walt on the left behind a cloud of his own cigarette smoke — Jesus, isn’t that something? Then Freddie, Frankie, Johnny, Dinny, and Lawrence—and the whole gang of them, plus Bud, are on a weekend pack trip through primitive Popo Agie, a wilderness region two hours west of Casper.

The pack horses belong to a buddy from work, but mostly the fellas are here to fish. Popo Agie consists of a series of high jagged peaks cut with lakes and ponds and streams that crash through canyons and race down sheer walls of granite.

But the fish — the fish! Man, you can dangle a handkerchief over the water and the rainbow trout hop out. Walt’s never seen anything like it.
