Bossy’s Favorite Things.

Green Fruit Smoothies.

As some of you may know because Bossy can’t shut up about it for even one second, Bossy and her mother are on Day 5 of their 5-day broth and juice cleanse, otherwise known as Sister Mercy it’s almost over.

When Bossy was preparing for this radical dissection fast, she did some research, pulled a few recipes, and hit the organic aisle of her grocery store, where organic aisle equals the frozen food case. Kidding! Just a little hypoglycemic humor!

Unfortunately, once home from the store, Bossy quickly forgot one of the main components of her plan due to a little side effect she likes to call Reduced Brain Function. But lucky for Bossy she has her readers to remind her of plans they didn’t know she had, just like one such reader did the other day — and Bossy spent the last ten minutes looking for that comment while wondering if it’s a normal desire to want to stab your husband with his butter knife just because he filled his coffee mug with pungent french roast to a level beyond the brim.

Anyway, Bossy couldn’t find that reader’s comment, but it suggested adding parsley to Bossy’s fruit smoothies.

And Bossy sees this parsley and raises her reader a fist full of baby spinach. That’s right, Bossy has been adding these things to her fruit smoothies and it is truly satisfying and less cloyingly sweet than a regular smoothie, with the exception of Bossy’s obsession which has plenty of yogurt and milk to temper the natural sugars. Beautiful yogurt and milk? Bossy misses you.

Anyway, here is the recipe for Bossy’s Excellent Green Fruit Smoothie:

In your blender, place one peeled and cored apple, one banana, some freshly squeezed orange juice, a handful of mango chunks, four or five strawberries, a fistful of parsley, and a scattering of baby spinach greens. Blend. Thin with Spa Water fruit-flavored water, if necessary.

Today Bossy may add some cucumber!

This drink is so delicious, Bossy almost doesn’t miss solid food! For instance a thick steak smothered in bearnaise sauce with a caesar salad and loaf of garlic bread. Almost.
