Bossy’s Favorite Things.

Dinner out with Bossy’s dad, just the two of them.

Last night Bossy and her father had such an occasion, which is rare considering their easy proximity. The extended family is swell and all that, but Bossy prefers one-on-one time with her dad so they can finish sentences and retell old stories and catch up on what’s new and giggle and share an order of warm apple-filled puff pastry.

   Growing up, my dad used to surprise check me out of school and take me to lunch at our absolute favorite Mexican place in the world. Then we’d eat hot peppers until one of us cried uncle. It was usually me. I love this post. I think it melted the frigid spot where my heart would be.

    I love spending time with my Dad – I have even been known to get him to a restaurant every so often (so long as it sells steak!). But martinis… his massive mitt would snap the stem of that glass first sip. Never mind. Scotch and dry works just as well.
