Bossy’s Favorite Things

Lobster cooked over the campfire. This photo was taken in Bossy’s screen house where all the camping meals are consumed. On the table you’ll find a salad heavy with garlic vinaigrette, some lemon wedges, melted butter, a bit of freshly prepared cocktail sauce, a camera lens cap, some wine, a bottle of ale, candle wax drips, sister mercy can Bossy stop now?

Anyway. This photo perfectly captures the pre-feast mood, which consisted of a heap of anticipation covering a film of bickering mixed with concern on the part of Bossy’s daughter regarding this strange lobster thing and that strange lobster thing.

   Was a little concerned that Bossy wasn’t taking a true vacation, seeing as how she’s still doing a heckuva lot of writing and posting. Good to see she won’t have to do dishes.

    umm, bossy rocks since she is up to preparing lobster while camping. i haven’t mustered the nerve to prepare lobster in a fully appointed kitchen, much less while camping.

    Mostly, I LURF the bright cheery tablecloth (it’s that vinyl-coated fabric right?) that makes even normal bright blue and red plastic plates look festive.

    Now THAT is camping. Here I was thinking that CAMPING meant communing with nature, getting back to basics etc etc… but NOW I get that camping = lobster dinners in a gauze tent a la Bossy. Silly me.

    And in a completely UNRELATED issue, I realise Bossy is away from most things technological, but could she please get her computer nerds to work out why the ‘remember me’ bit of her comment section doesn’t (in fact) EVER remember me. I feel so unloved.

    Cooking lobster on a campfire is just like cooking it at home: boil water, add lobster. Or you could grill it, or steam it or…. (now I sound like Bubbah from “Forest Gump”)
