Bossy’s Favorite Things

Ok, here we go. This jacket. Quite a few esteemed members of Bossy’s council have commented about this jacket during Bossy’s (No) Book Tour, which is just another way of saying Sister Mercy Bossy, do you ever take that thing off?

Here’s how it happened: A week before leaving on her adventure, Bossy went into a Marshalls to poke around, and since Bossy is a chronic tank top wearer she found herself chilly in the store, and so she walked over to the rack and put it on and continued to shop. She wore that jacket as she looked for road trip sweat pants and she wore that jacket as she looked for road trip flats and before Bossy knew it she was at the counter buying (no) sweat pants and (no) flats, but purchasing the jacket.

The jacket was crazy cheap, but it seemed stiff at first and too Michael Jackson imitating Sgt. Pepper and Bossy thought of returning it, because Bossy likes to do that.

Instead Bossy packed it for her road trip, but only because her favorite black shirt was missing. And thank gah Bossy packed it, because this jacket has been to a taping of The Prairie Home Companion and it’s seen the Marfa lights and it got married to a Seattle cameraman and everything in between.

Even if it’s still all Michael Jackson imitates Sgt. Pepper.

   Thank you for that! Every time I see that jacket in a picture I think, “But why won’t she tell me where she got that jacket?”

   Incidentally, I think it’s more Janet Jackson during the Rhythm Nation album days, which makes it even better.
