Bossy’s Favorite Things

Scrabble. Or, in this case, travel scrabble on a beach with Bossy’s friend Amy and Bossy’s friend Wally.

This is a new phenomenon, because in Bossy’s childhood she would rather have poked her eyes out with needles than played Scrabble with Bossy’s smart mother and her Wordsmith friends. Back then, Bossy’s attempts to place a three-letter word would be met with a lashing from her mom along the lines of, “Jesus, apply yourself!”

These days Bossy is addicted to the online version of Scrabble, Words With Friends.

   km is addicted to her iPad’s Scrabble. IPad games don’t allow for cheating so no yelling involved. Even in Monopoly:)

   Yeah, I couldn’t deal with playing Scrabble with my mom, either. She gave her grandsons no quarter, either. My husband and son are Scrabble fiends. I mediate disagreements from my post on the sofa.

   I just played three games of it last night with visiting friends – thank gah they left this morning, as I lost all three games. However, I appreciate the elegance (by others) of filling in GONAD by supplying only the G and N, and creating two other words in the process!
