Bossy’s Favorite Things

Downton Abbey. Even if Bossy thought it was Downtown Abbey for an embarrassing period of time longer than the Victorian era, which draws to a close as this fictional miniseries begins.

This is basically like watching The Remains of the Day, except more hours of it. The characters and acting are somewhat less interesting, although Bossy adores Elizabeth McGovern, who reminds Bossy of her grandmother.

For those of you with Netflix instant streaming, the first season is available and features seven haughty episodes!

   She does, indeed, resemble Elizabeth. Maggie Smith is the sole reason why I keep watching Downton Abbey. I’m trying my best to imitate her head tilt and pucker!

   I am a total sap and love everything Matthew and Mary.

   I ususally love these sorts of series… this one is a bit less interesting and the characters are too boring. Still watch it tho!

   Loved this series, have seen season 2 and was lucky enough to catch the Christmas Special on BBC. Now reading Death at Pemberley by P.D. James which reminds me of Downton Abbey although takes place a few years in to Elizabeth and Darcys marriage, but there is an upstairs and downstairs feeling.

    Love my $7.99 Netflix for moments such as these. A few Sundays ago, I watched all seven episodes of season one and then watched the two hour premiere of season two on PBS in the evening. It was my most productive day in the past three weeks.

    I just discovered Downton Abbey at the season 2 premiere. Now I have two more episodes of Season 1 to watch on the DVDs I borrowed for free from my library. But they’re due back tomorrow. And I missed Episode 3 on Sunday, and have to watch it at 9:30 CST tonight!! Existential crisis here: which begs the question: why am I reading Bossy right now??? Goodbye!
