This Christmas Cactus. It was given to Bossy at this time last year, in full bloom. The plant was stuck in a prominent place in Bossy’s apartment and subsequently ignored, collecting dust through three seasons.
And now it’s blooming again. Bossy hopes it’s symbolic.

Are they poisonous to cats? She ate my (unlucky) bamboo so I’m hesitant to bring in another snack.
She attempted to eat the Christmas tree branches until she discovered that they were made of plastic.

December 13, 2012 at 12:56 amI think it might be, Bossy. There is a story about a resurrection that sounds remarkably like your Cactus Story.
I found some research here.

December 16, 2012 at 4:37 pmIf you place it is a colder spot you might get more blooms. I ignore mine except for occasional water and it blooms every year. I keep mine by a drafty window.
