Yet Another Little Known Fact.

The wild swings in temperature have made Bossy’s neighborhood a very conflicted one. Here Christmas lights hang on a budding bush.

   My witch hazel shrub smells like cat pee, but it is so nice to see some color in February. Keeps me goin’, I tell ya.

   I’ve sometimes thought about planting witch hazel for the earliest late winter color. But have a relatively bad track record with planted trees and shrubs, so it’s probably just as well that I haven’t murdered a witch hazel along with the rest.
