Yet Another Little Known Fact

Bossy bought a few bundles of Forsythia for her mom, who loves bundles of Forsythia, but doesn’t love Forsythia bushes because she thinks they look scraggly the rest of the year when not blooming. Such is a moment inside the head of Bossy’s mother.

   I also get it and won’t have a forsythia bush for the same reason. I LOVE seeing them in bloom along the highways.

   km’s mom loves gardening but paying for flowers as a gift is ridiculous because “you can’t eat flowers”. km knows to send grub for all occasions.

   Right there with you, BOSSY’s Mom. I also pretty much hate most shrubbery. Trees and flowers stay, the shrubs must go.

   Yeah, BOSSY’s Mom is right on. They also look scraggley when they are on the north side of a house and don’t get enough sunlight before they bloom. But I love the bright yellow.

   I totally get it too! Someone needs to invent a forsythia bush that looks nicer when not blooming! Hmm….

   There were about 10-12 planted when we bought house. Hubby has been methodically removing. I think there are 2 left in front and 3 in back. Guessing 2 in front will be gone this year.

    I agree! I planted a forsythia bush because I love the cut blooms in my house. A few years later, I dug up that scraggly-ass thing and gave it away.
