How To Post A Video On YouTube. A Bossy Tutorial

As many of you know, Bossy is currently hosting a cloud giveaway on her blog. To enter to win this two-thousand dollar cloud, all you need to do is post a video on YouTube detailing what you could achieve with a better night’s sleep.

But sister mercy many of Bossy’s esteemed council are losing sleep because they’re all Video What Video How Do You Take A Video With No Video Camera And How Do You Post To YouTube And OhMyGah There Are Too Many Rules.

Here’s the thing. This is meant to be fun, and meant to give someone the chance to win something that will change your life. Bossy is aware not everyone has a video camera because Bossy doesn’t have a traditional video camera because the last video camera Bossy owned made her look as though she was recording footage for Action News:

These days, most computers contain some sort of webcam capabilities. Bossy shot this video using the camera in her laptop, which was propped on her bed. And many point-and-shoot digital cameras are equipped with the ability to shoot video. Bossy’s daughter shot this video of Bossy ice dancing with her mediocre digital camera. Not to mention the video capability of many smart phones.

But Bossy understands the grievance and financial implications — Bossy herself hosts a daily Poverty Party, where daily equals her last poverty post is covered in cobwebs — and Bossy understands many of you are not in possession of video technology. Which is why Bossy suggests reaching out to a neighbor, or a friend, or a friend of your cousin’s neighbor’s friend, because that would be more fun anyway!

Because, don’t forget, this isn’t Rocket Science.

And keep in mind the video needs to be kept under a minute — this isn’t War And Peace.

Assuming you can record a one-minute video in the next seven days, all you need to do is upload it to YouTube. Previously this was intimidating because YouTube was picky about what format the footage had to be in, but now posting something on YouTube is as easy as one, two, three (and maybe four and five.)

First you sign up for a YouTube account:

You’ll need to come up with a username and check for availability:

Then you’ll need to enter an email address and think of a password:

With your YouTube account all set up, all you need to do is upload your video. YouTube recognizes the following video formats: QuickTime .MOV, Windows .AVI, .MPG files, and way more. Bossy understands. She thinks all of those letters and dots and things are perplexing too, but chances are if you’re using current technology, it can be uploaded as is. Give it a try!

When you press that upload video button, it allows you to select your video from your computer’s files — or you can record your video at this stage using your computer’s built-in webcam option.

And then the only thing left to do is name your video and tag it — in the case of Bossy’s Cloud Giveaway, tag it with the following: Tempur-Pedic, TEMPUR-Cloud, Sleep, Mattress, Health.

If you’re still unclear, you can watch this How-To video created by YouTube.

Then, when everything is complete and your video is on YouTube, leave a comment on this Bossy post which includes a link to your YouTube video entry!

There aren’t that many entries, council, so, statistically speaking, your chances of winning are like one-dee-bazillion percent.

Go go go! Contest open through midnight this coming Sunday, July 25th.
