The Daily Poverty Post.

You may wonder what this mess of food photography represents. Well, Bossy is here to tell you, where here equals stuck behind your monitor, help!

This photo represents a buffet. In fact it represents the buffet of food Bossy’s husband and daughter prepared, along with their friends, in order to not celebrate that thing Bossy doesn’t want to talk about but it rhymes with Irthday.

When Bossy is feeling particularly broke, her first instinct is to hunker down and become antisocial, because you can’t spend when you’re under covers, unless you’re with a hooker, but that’s another party having nothing to do with Poverty.

Where was Bossy, and who else hates Mondays with every fiber of the flannel night shirt they’ve worn to bed for sixty-three years without washing?

Right — buffets and stuff. Last night, each of Bossy’s friends contributed to the dinner, so even though it was a sit-down dinner for eleven with enough wine to drown a 6′ blogger, it was really inexpensive to produce and there are enough leftovers for another Irthday, should anyone like those things.

Go forth and socialize, potluck style.

   We just did our first pot-luck for our Super Bowl party last week and I’m convinced it’s the only way to go. Your true friends will not mind helping out by bringing a dish and screw the other people!

   Happy Birthday Bossy. I feel the same way you do, that my financial situation makes me want to take to my bed and stay there until my husband finds a new job and our lives are back on track. But maybe a potluck would be a good way to break the funk.
