The Daily Poverty Party.

Who remembers when Bossy was all, “This Eucerin Calming Creme is the best skin moisturizer eh-ver.“

Well, Bossy hit two snags, in order of occurrence.

1. What is Creme anyway, and how come Bossy didn’t notice it wasn’t Cream?
2. How can Bossy get the last bits out of the air-filled tube so she doesn’t waste a drop?

The first snag Bossy can’t solve unless she joins Eucerin’s Product Development and Marketing Department. But the second snag she attacked in this manner:

She tried rolling up the tube like toothpaste, but the plastic was too thick and Bossy’s carpal tunnel syndrome too severe. So out came the scissors.

She cut straight down the stiff tube to the bulging tip where she was finally able to release the cream, and sorry but are we still talking about Eucerin?

Bossy will be able to get at least two more days out of this butchered carcass. But so much for Calming Creme.

   We experienced poverty partiers cut our tube across – perpendicular to your cut, down close to the end. Then set it upside down on its cap like a little tiny tub until it’s all gone. It won’t dry out, because it won’t last long.

   I think one pays more for “Creme” than “Cream”. I know this because there is an obnoxious shop here in Indianapolis that calls itself a “Beaute Centre” instead of a “Beauty Center”. The former is an expensive, overrated nightmare, and the latter sounds like a hair salon in Costco.
   I like the Costco one better.

   I did the same once with a tube of kitty laxative. They licked it clean. It wasn’t too calme for a while after that!

   I do this all the time for my facial moisturizers, masks, etc. If it’s something I don’t use every day then put it in a ziploc bag and into the fridge.

    yeah, my 65 dollar glass jar of miricle face moisturizer (that I absolutely swear I can’t live without, yet the fine lines and wrinkles are still there) will be next to licked clean! I will get out every single speck in whatever manner I can! Then once I run out, I get pissed about how I didn’t allot it better throughout it’s life. And how I should have used the fancy little spatula that comes with it for proper measuring. Ugh…Oil of Olay here I come!

    Oh, yes. You must do this with all the creams, cremes, serums and any facial product costing over $2.50. Ziplock baggie. Then, when the only remaining .001 oz left is down in the tip/nozzle end…grab a Q-tip and gouge it out…

    I am currently waging a similar battle with my Jergen’s bottle. WHY do the manufacturers make it so hard to get the last little bit out? It is so not user-friendly. And why do I feel compelled to poundpoundpound the bottle and try to shove my fingers in there to GET the last little bit out?

    It’s always a relief when I can throw away the old one in good conscience and start a new bottle. It’s the little things in life.

    I’m a fellow tube butcher too. My new fav. moisturizer is a jar of shea butter from the hfs. I bought some to make deodorant (yup, I said it) and used the leftover for hand and face cream. It’s divine, I tell ya.

    2 words: Tube Squeezer. Oh yes, there is such a thing. Painters use them, hooks on the end of the tube and then you roll it up until its more done than done.

    Are you near a Walgreen’s? Mine had the big gigantic Calming Creme on sale this week for $9.99. It was shrink-wrapped with a smaller travel sized of the same for FREE.
    And in their EasySaver Catalog that you get at the entrance, there was a $2 coupon!

    Looked like a Poverty Party deal to me.

    Oh I do that. Cut the end off straight, use yer fingie to get the creme out and then fold the cut end and use a stylish yet inexpensive sealant such as, say, a laundry peg, or perhaps a bulldog clip to stop the remaining smears from drying out. Oh ho yes.

    Bossy might say, Gahhh why is this woman posting a comment so late, but here goes: Right after you posted this, I was inspired to pry the top off my own fave moisturizer, the jumbo pump-top of Vaseline Intensive Care, and guess what, there was so much in the bottom that the pump wouldn’t pump out that I’m STILL using it.
