I’m sympathetic. For the first time in 25 years, I was not only on time but I didn’t have to pay back any money.
For the first time, we owed. It was a sad day. Even sadder (is that a word?) because our tax refund is always our vacation fund. Looks like my vacation this summer will be an overnight trip to Summerfest in Milwaukee… Not that there’s anything wrong with Milwaukee, but considering that I live in Chicago, I’d have rather gotten farther away than 80 miles, and for longer than ONE NIGHT!
I wrote on my check For “Marriage Tax Penalty” because by God it isn’t right to have to divorce my dh and live together in sin (or never having gotten married but had our kids out of wedlock). Fix the fooking system peeps!
just as long as you don’t go out “teabagging” with the rest of the UNintelligencia. (is that a word?)
Okay, I didn’t realize that yesterday was even the 15th, because hello? extension here too. Where (to coin some bossy phrase) extension does NOT equal hair.
I have the opposite problem–I’m due a refund that will go a long way toward lifting me out of poverty (amended taxes, new AMT rules, blah blah) and the IRS is taking its sweet, sweet time for the refund–5 weeks so far.
Why is it that I need to give them THEM their money right away, but they give me mine . . . when they damn well feel like it?

i seriously believe that teabagging in public would be illegal in all 50 states. Although I understand the reference, I bet they’re wishing the chose a different phrase for their little demonstration.
And I’m wishing I could go back and edit the spelling errors in that last comment of mine. Ooops.
A few of my buddies had to file an extension. I say paying later for taxes you owe today is a TOTALLY frugal move, and one I encourage.
Maybe, if you extend enough, the IRS will just go away and bother someone else? A girl can dream, right?
Heard some very vociferous tea party “friends” on Facebook lately. So why didn’t they holler when all their money was being wasted on a bogus war in Iraq?
If you file for an extention and you owe the government money you have to pay a penalty on what you owe. From April 15 until you pay the owed amount. SUCKS

When I say “I” I mean *somebody else* who I pay to figure it all out because I cannot.
When I say “filed” I mean “*somebody else* who I pay to figure it out filed an extension.”
When I say “also” I mean pass the wine. And keep it comin’.
I have no idea what I’m doing when I look at my tax forms. So after incorporating the help of my parents (and several other peoples parents) I think my taxes will be ready to file….later on this week. I need my refunds asap! I didn’t realize how broke I was until my job lost my paycheck….again. I’m now living paycheck to bf’s paycheck =(
I hate taxes but I love tea!
After I steep the bags, I like to give them a little squeeze and a shake to get every last drop of flavor.
But sometimes, if I squeeze them too hard, they rip…

Someday I hope to earn enough money to be able to pay taxes. As it is now, we get a refund every year, and the needle barely moves on our finances (unless it is moving BACKWARDS).

BTW, it didn’t start out with the name teabagging, some idiot from MSMBC started that name. It was called Tea Party- in historical reference to the Boston Tea Party. But like usual the media cannot leave things be and have to twist it and contort anything they don’t agree with…
