Ten-Word Tuesday. What Bossy Did On Her Summer Vacation
Today is the first day of school at Camp Bossy, which officially marks the end of Bossy’s summer. So Bossy thought it would be fun to reflect on the last couple of months, where fun equals some people won’t be happy until they cry. Cue hangdog soundtrack.
The first thing Bossy did in June was throw a porch party:
Next Bossy attended a wedding:
And then in early July, Stella began her new tradition of taco night at Camp Bossy!
In the exact middle of the summer, Bossy slept with two men:
And then Bossy’s friend Martha had a black baby:
And then in late July, Bossy went to a blog conference and flew home with her new husband Jon Gosselin:
Next Bossy and her friend Martha perfected the art of Synchronized Slouching While Pocketbooking:
And finally, Bossy jumped in a lake:
Bossy can sum up her summer in this way: It wasn’t Paris France, but Bossy sure had some laughs.

Frolicked in Bethany Beach, Delaware and drank lots of tequila.
Drank Chardonnay, Watched Kids Swim, Got Dirty Camping, Relaxed, Re-Charged
To-do list unfinished but I did drink lots o wine!
I worked, worked, and oh.. I worked some more! AUUUGGGHHHH
I got pregnant. That pretty much says it all, right?
Poo-ed outside for ten days, where outside = concrete bathhouse.
Totally relaxed and recharged. Oh wait, that was commenter # 2.
Wrote a book and became accomplished author! Woke up. Darn!
Married Kefir but then had an affair with camping bacon.
I got married to the best man in the world!
Two vacations, one on each coast. Worth going into debt.
Procrastinated lots. Got sunburnt. Baked my ass off. (If only.)
Played tour guide to visitors. Over and over and over.
went to Paris France, then the beach, next Charlotte NC
Looked for alien spaceships and other woo-woo activities. Seriously! ; ]
1st summer without wk in 32 yrs! June sucked, rest wonderful!!!
Worked and relaxed, shuffle and repeat, where did summer go?
Rain, more rain, good family times, blistering heat, September!
kids, dogs, kids, dogs, more kids, more dogs and ate.
I moved. Met new neighbors who introduced Pomegranate Cosmopolitans. Love.
(Love the drink, not the neighbors. I like the neighbors.)
House, house, house. Travel for work. Belly full of kid.
(And Shelley, #20 – I puffy heart pomegranate Cosmos. And thanks. Because it’s another 2 months before I can even dream of having one. *pouts*)
Gulf beach, Maine coast, remainder spent on face of sun.
Tour of Souther Cal., Disneyland, Zoo, Corando Island , miss it.
Spent many bucks replacing dryer, oven ignighter, washing machine timer.
surf, sun, grunion run, san francisco, grunion run, monterey, yosemite
Awesome July 4th bash, new sangria recipes, jeans still fit.
Oops! only one grunion run plus “hot yoga”
Teen complained, baby became toddler, Disney trip, never enough naps!
My urchins thrived at home and away. Not my tomatoes.
Remodeled bathroom. Traveled to Vermont and Alaska. Found husband’s jobless.
Gay Camp BOSSY is the happiest place on earth! Srsly.
And, grew basil. Basil. And more Basil. Who wants pesto?
Sun, lounging, Zion, Bryce, Glacier, hernia, teachers Strike??!!!?? Eternal summer…….
new job, garden, block party, planted flowers, vacation, enjoyed myself.
Started to build a house and realized that = no vacation
work, work, work, beach with baby, work, lunch with Mr.
I went to Gamer Mecca. It was awesome.
Last week May with Grandson. Naxos beach house. The best!
Fell down wood steps. Best friend moved away. Kinda tough!
Cooked, cleaned, laundried, and a whole lot of nothing else.
worked, started school for a new career at 50! YAY!
I went all fan girl on you, again, at Blogher.
Realized that year round schooling is a f-ing brilliant idea.
Can’t remember, brain fried by start of new school year
Gobsmacked as my two college-aged kids morphed into friends
Bought a house and fell all the way in love.
drank alot wine, drank alot beer and enjoyed myself alot
Cared for elderly dad, who’s deteriorating fast. Colonoscopy/gastroscopy Friday.

Weekends were so full we had to schedule in fun.
They zipped by. Can’t remember what we did. Summer? What?
Either watched my son play baseball or watched it rain.
What the hell?!! Summer is over??!! How did that happen?
June-Germany, France. July/August-back in Armpit, Colorado. Work.
First Love Affair in 15 years… first break-up too…ALIVE!!!!
Son graduated college, came home, got/lost job, moved out.
Not sure what I did, but kids had fun galore!
Even though Maui, May’s too long ago to remember now.
Mt. Rushmore, t-ball games, sweet corn, lawn mowing, pond swimming.
I sweated. And I gestated a baby. And sweated more.
bought a house and puppy, but lived on Ramen Noodles.
Lost Job. Spent Summer with Daughter and mother. Drank Wine.
Laundry. Beach. Sunburn. Netflix. Seven healthy kids. No ER visits.
It was just like fall, winter and spring only hot.
Kayaked, ran, sunbathed, read, ate, drank wine on Block Island.
went to work, listened to baseball games, knitted, met Y-O-U!
(unfortunately, I didn’t get to sleep with the two guys, dammit!)
Road trip with favorite travel companions: husband, dog and Wilco.
worked ass off while coworkers basked in joy of maternity leave.
Has no one noticed that Bossy is trying to make us do HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS?!?!
The road. We strode, we biked, we hiked. So delicious!
Lots of rain = weeds. Weeded, weeded, then weeded some more!
Um… everything that Bossy described, plus one week theatre camp…

Tried not to get eaten by bears visiting our cabin.
Summer, my stayin in. Look out winter! live in AZ.

Roadtrip Florida to Oregon. Sixteen states. Oregon family time. Yay!

not one damn thing i meant to do. damn it.
Roof leaks, lost only bathroom, beach condo, new roof, bathroom (not so bad overall, really)
India-meditation, yoga, cleansing/fasting, US-stressy culture shock, moved, Fall!
Researched blogging, started a blog, worked on the blog– bingo!
I’m not giving in until Sept 20! Gah!!
Capped summer off with cross-country drive with oldest daughter. Fun!
Waterparks, cabins, birthdays for all munchkins,healthy, happy, good life .
South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana. Lots of rocks. Too much hiking!
Summer camps, plane & train rides, DC with three kids!
Ate and drank myself ten pounds heavier. Damn, damn, damn…
Sold screenplay. Celebrated again and again and again and again.
Left Arizona. Life changed. Moved to Chicago. Fell in love.
And if I had 10 MORE words they would be like:
Fixed broken bossy blog because someone just can’t behave already.
9 beds, 8 suitcases, 5 countries, laughter, wine, lakes, Uganda.
eternal swimteam, then Ireland and Prague, liver recovering.
Kids, kids, wrote, kids, kids, kids, kids, kids, sucky diet.
lost 10 pounds, gained 11 pounds. Perhaps too much wine?.
Daughter’s figure skating competitions, college tour, relatives.
I can do better and tell you in one: Pregnant.
First BlogHer. Second grade shopping. Thirds on margaritas, slept in.
The best summer we ever encountered. Love was ever present.
Drank lots of wine and wished for autumn to arrive.
slept with the windows open. wished for school to reopen!
