Ten-Word Tuesday. The Unwritten Posts.

cluttered-desktop

There’s something about the promise of a new calendar year that gets Bossy in the mood to clear the many files from her computer’s desktop. There’s also something about staying up too late drinking red wine that forces Bossy to ditch her previous idea for Ten-Word Tuesday and come up with a post that doesn’t require Bossy to be firing with all four cylinders. Five cylinders? Firing on cylinders? Anyway.

Bossy understands this habit of keeping too many files on a desktop annoys some people, and Bossy’s husband we’re looking at you. But Bossy finds her desktop is the best place to store her post ideas because it’s impossible to ignore these files when they stare at you all day. And when Bossy says it’s impossible to ignore these files, she means she ignores them for years on end. Shall we begin?

swedish-interior

The above picture represents the post Bossy didn’t write about Swedish interiors and how Bossy covets them. Bossy thinks it may be the light random-width floors. That and perhaps the simple pairing of furniture, the black and white framed photography, the modern dining chairs, the cheap trestle table, the white sofa, the vase of flowers, the reading lamp, the votives, the antique hall table, the visible electrical cords, the hanging plant, and the sheepskin throw blankets. And the X-looking thingie on the wall.

Next we have this:

jimmy-wales-wikipedia

He’s Jimmy Wales, one of the co-founders of Wikipedia, and his photo represents the post Bossy didn’t write about the new donate button on all of the Wikipedia pages, along with a personal appeal from Jimmy Wales, who helpfully suggests the donation amount of $250 but is also nice enough to include a $35 button for Bossy to ignore.

Next up is this:

google

It’s one of Google’s holiday logos, and represents the post Bossy didn’t write about how Google was mocking Bossy with its island imagery when Bossy herself was caught in the middle of a snowstorm.

Speaking of cars, next we have this:

honda-civic-1977

It is a 1977 Honda Civic, and it represents the post Bossy didn’t write about her first car. And while on the subject of Honda Civics built slightly after dinosaurs roamed the earth, aging Bossy adores how the above photo of the Honda appears to be taken a few years before the invention of photography.

Next up we have… oh never mind. Bossy has exhausted herself with all of this material she didn’t write. Bossy can sum up all of her ideas, kept in files scattered across her computer desktop, in this way: Sure seemed like a darn good idea at the time.

Which is what today’s Ten-Word Challenge is all about. In exactly ten words, can you tell Bossy about some of the files you avoid on your computer’s desktop?

And be sure to check back later today for the most avoided file comments on the web.

If you missed the last Ten-Word challenge, click here to read about the interesting neighbors Bossy’s council has had over the years, described in ten words, of course.

And thanks to everyone who entered Bossy’s coffee giveaway. Bossy will send the five winners emails. Thanks, as always, for playing along.
