Ten-Word Tuesday. Animal Magnetism
Bossy’s daughter loves elephants. Posters, figurines, plush toys, jewelry, books, and pajamas are just a few of the things Bossy’s daughter has acquired in an elephant theme.
When asked recently to describe what it is specifically that draws her to this particular mammal, Bossy’s daughter offered the following expert opinion:
smart
close to humans (smart wise)
really nice
and i love them!
Bossy can sum up how she feels about her daughter’s elephant obsession in this way: Where else is one admired for dry skin and wrinkles?
Which is what today’s Ten-Word Challenge is all about. In exactly ten words, can you tell Bossy if you’ve ever been obsessed by one mammal over another, and if so, which one?

Monkeys were my childhood obsession, where childhood equals even now.

Sea otters and meerkats. Otters have fun, meerkats look silly.
Horses. Wild, beautiful, strong, graceful, soft-nosed and magnificent horses.
My babies – sometimes smelly, always loved. When does school start?
I had cats, cat posters, cat sheets, & cat shirts.
DG and Bossy’s Daughter are kindred spirits! I LOVE elephants!

Hippos. They have smiles on their ‘faces’, they have a pinkish hue and they’re responsible for more human deaths than lions. So I like that whole “everyone underestimates them” thing they have going. I have a hippo collection which is surprisingly easy to add to year after year.
The platypus, the coolest mammal of all. Even though it lays eggs, it has been deemed a mammal by the scientific community because it feeds its young milk.
Whales. All kinds of whales. Huge, smart, vocal and endangered.
And bats because they’re cool and I want to fly.

Koalas. Which are NOT bears, but marsupials. Why? Don’tknow.

Dogs. Friendly, Furry and Fun. Love without condition, perfectly simple.
Horses. But then dogs. It’s still dogs. But horses once.
I adore squirrels even if they’re rats with fluffy tails.
DOGS! and then cats…
Cougar – The Mountain Lion, not the creepy desperate housewife kind.
Monkeys and dolphins — I like animals smarter than my exes.
Moose! Weird animal to love? Can’t help it. I’m obsessed!
Dogs and cats. They rule my house. Need new couch.
Dukie, five lbs. of fierce fluffy love total spoiled brat!
Cows, without whom there would be no mint-chocolate chip.
Real buffalo are very cool, but I only collected plushies.
Once long ago – horses. Now, Koalas and dogs.
(Also, penguins and flamingos, but they are not mammals)
i adore hippos. cute but fierce. use big mouths to signal aggression, kinda like people.
Capybaras! Can’t really explain it — they speak to my soul .
Dogs. Keep me safe, nuzzle me when I’m sad, love.
Suddenly obsessed with baby sloths, but dogs are my favorite.

Alligator: example of being what God made you to be.
Dolphins – because they’re cool and you can swim with them!
Chipmunks just kill me. I love to watch them do a Billy’s Family Circus in my yard.
Polar Bears. And Panda Bears. And Grizzlies. All bears rock!
manatees. google Snooty the Manatee. Love.
Hippos: They are fat and slow but cute in plush!
Horses = smell + look good + between-your-legs fun (doesn’t leave you pregnant!)

Any mammals but monkeys — they are too close for comfort.

Friends have been giving me piggy’s since college Halloween party.
Elephants too. Since 11, started with an elephant footprint stamp.
(And I have now passed the torch to my own daughter, her room is covered in them))
I can’t single out just one, I love ALL mammaries.
As a kid: anteaters. As an adult: roosters, bats, frogs.
And then there’s my four-year-old: lambs, lambs, lambs.
I would entrust my life to a Beagle, no qualms.
Elephant.
Kodiak bears, aka Furry Tractors, are the largest brown bear.
Its always been cats and probably always will be cats.
