Ten-Word Tuesday: Snapshots From A Far-Flung Correspondent

Welcome to Snapshots from a Far-Flung Correspondent, which features images and moments from Bossy’s Son’s semester in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

While I’m just now rounding off my second week in Argentina, my brief time has been a whirlwind of new experiences and sights. Here are a few of the images I’ve encountered.

A theatrical and lively musical performance from Babel Orkestra in the Ciudad Cultural Konex, an outdoor concert space within walking distance of my hosts’ house.

Palm trees, or palmeros, are not indigenous to the Buenos Aires region, but they are often moved from northern Argentina into the capital. Here, a palmero stands tall in a gorgeous park off of Plaza Italia in Palermo.

Buenos Aires is an enormous city, and sometimes a walk along Plaza de Mayo to see the Casa Rosada and the governmental buildings can lead you to a gorgeous alley chock full of heladerías, ice cream vendors.

And lastly, despite the city’s beauty, sometimes it’s nice to escape the buildings and find some time for relaxation. Here, me and a few friends from my program vacation briefly in the beach town of Villa Gesell over the Carnaval holiday.

I can sum up my experiences so far in this way: Latenight buses, streetfood churripanes, castellano rioplatanese, que viva la Argentina!

Which is what today’s Ten Word Challenge is all about. In exactly ten words, do you have any words of wisdom for Bossy’s son?
