Ten-Word Tuesday, The Hangover Cure

Recently CNN reported on a variety of hangover cures, and their effectiveness, in different nations around the globe.

Take the United States. Please. In the U.S. hangover foods are often greasy, like bacon. But did you know fatty foods are more effective if consumed prior to drinking because the grease repels the alcohol from the stomach’s lining?

Guatemalans favor the concept of sweating out their hangovers by eating caldo de pollo, which is hot peppers in a chicken broth — while Russians drink pickle juice straight from the jar!

Of course Bossy herself has never been in the position of overindulging in libations, but Bossy has a friend who has. Let’s call this friend Flossy.

And for years Flossy’s habit would be to head to a diner the morning after tying one on, and here was Flossy’s order:

At some point Flossy’s preferred cure became the tomato since she discovered it’s a particularly effective hangover remedy, since tomato juice contains vitamin A and vitamin C and beta-carotene and vodka with a celery garnish.

Bossy can sum up her hangover cure in this way: Nothing beats something salty, like bagels and lox. Like, right?

Which is what today’s Ten-Word Challenge is all about. Not that any of Bossy’s esteemed council drink too much, but if you knew someone who one time maybe did, can you share a hangover cure in exactly ten words?

And be sure to check back later today for the best hangover cures on the web!
