Where Bossy Discovers A New Moon Or Two Orbiting Her Living Room.
Some of you may be as thrilled as Bossy to read about the discovery of a new moon circling Saturn, where thrilled equals there are over sixty of these things, what’s another one?
This moon is one-third of a mile across and is located within Saturn’s dusty sixth ring, known as the G ring. It was first discovered as a speck of light seen on numerous photographs captured by the orbiting Cassini spacecraft.
Which is why this is such a coincidence:
Bossy took this photo yesterday afternoon while Bossy and her friend Martha enjoyed a ladies’ luncheon by Bossy’s fireplace. On closer inspection of the photograph, Bossy spied an unidentified moonlet or two. Or twelve:
Bossy got very excited about the prospect of naming her moons. She was thinking of naming one Titan, but that’s already taken, so maybe Fitan? Then she was thinking about naming one of her moons Hyrrokkin but would you believe that’s taken too? Siarnaq? Taken. Bebhionn? Bastard!
Oh wait, never mind. Those aren’t moonlets. But they are dusty rings, which in Bossy’s universe counts for something.
Is that edamame? Edamame would be a good name for a moon!
Dust rings should count for something!
I too have dust rings and dust moons
(which are a heavier version with less orbiting)
Moons, schmoons. I want to come to lunch at Bossy’s and eat all cozylike in front of the fire with wine and yummy looking food!
Ummm, if you have moons, then I must have galaxies at my house. Wanna come inspect? Bring a feather duster, m’kay? For inspecting.

How come the sixth ring is “G”? That doesn’t add up. Or down.

If we started naming dusty rings at my house, we would run out of all names. Even the normal ones.

i have already named all my moons: BOSSY, BOSSY I, BOSSY II, etc. but now i will also name one MARTHA. because BOSSY’s friend MARTHA is always such a good sport about waiting while BOSSY takes photos of specks of things.

Anybody can have dust. If you want to impress me then you’re going to have to show me something I can relate to. I need some DOG HAIR.
Seems like a few ladies picked up on that: now there is a g ring in addition to a spot, oh, something else us guys will never find.

Aren’t moons and rings just dust anyway?? Or is that just rings? What are moons? Rock? Smash a rock and you get dust. Safe diff.

oKAY so sorry i interupted your little girls luncheon with my phone call as my “drunk” sister left your home….. but ….you know she is great at painting and will paint away your specks. And by the way… that first pict scared the pa-shit out of me cause it looked like a mammogram view with markings for ‘tags’……expect to see me in April!

Perhaps those are the residuals of the dust bunnies mooning Bossy and Bossy’s friend, Martha, because they were not invited to the luncheon?
