Very Little Has Been Said About Hurricane Sandy

Hello and welcome to Day Two of Bossy posting every single day in November! My how time flies when you have only 720 hours to write 30 whole things!

Today Bossy would like to give you her firsthand experience of Hurricane Sandy, since it’s so difficult to find anyone willing to talk about this storm or share their photos.

The first thing Bossy did was study the storm’s approach and calculate the projected landfall probabilities based on seasonal aggregate ratios — which means Bossy watched The Weather Channel:

Bossy observed the storm moving closer:

And Bossy monitored her own neighborhood from behind the family room window in the family house Bossy once shared with her family:

It seemed with each new radar update, the vortex of Comet cleanser scoured ever closer to Bossy’s shoreline:

And soon things outside of Bossy’s window began to change. First the rain arrived:

Then the wind:

And then the power went out in Bossy’s house!

And then suddenly Bossy’s view changed completely!

But soon electrical power was restored, and Bossy and her daughter went back home, where the rain and wind continued throughout a very long night:

In the morning, Bossy surveyed the damage sustained in her beloved New York City and beloved New Jersey beachside communities — and it finally hit Bossy why the Hurricane was named Sandy.

It’s the truth about the Sandy thing. I grew up with hurricanes hitting the coast each year and never, ever do I remember anything like mega tons of sand washing inland. It always had the opposite effect. The dunes were washed out to sea. Glad you were safe and praying for those still in such dire straights.

I was without power for days and I was nowhere near the East Coast! Winds knocked down so many power lines in the Midwest it wasn’t even funny. I hate Hurricane Sandy.

    Bossy,
We thought the best part of the storm was when Cicely Tynan called Adam Joseph a moron on-air when he forgot to turn his mike on when reading the weather. And then Jim Gardener’s elaborate cover-up. Hope you caught this. If not, it’s on YouTube. Just type in her name and moron.

Leave it to you to make the connection between the Hurricane’s name and ALL THAT SAND. I’m rather embarrassed I didn’t even think of that. Bossy for Mayor.

My son is in Erie so this was his first ever “real” storm. We don’t really get those in San Diego.

Glad you’re safe and posting here–love the artwork in this-when does Bossy sleep?!
